The thing is that a player has to decide when its time to hogg the ball and when itz time to play team ball. Like d wade. when he had to he took all da shots for miami when they were down by 13, but u can see that at the beggining of each game he takes less shots then in later quarters. Maybe kobe was telling the truth. He jsut made a bad decision. Thier wus a point when he had to tell himself hey these guys jsut arent gonna get this time ama have to be 81 point kobe. Unfortionately for the lakers he didnt. He stayed to hes gameplan and in basketball thats bad. You have to constantly make adjustments. Just shows that shaq was THE MAN at LA. Kobe is one of the greatest in scoring but he decision making sucks thats why he needs another star on hes team, but u know when they were down 45-60 at halftime kobe must have looked into those guys eeys and realized that he was gonna lose. Frustration could of been a factor. The phoenix are like that. They just dun stop scoring. He did take them to 7 games , but at the end hes decision making cost him the game.

Kobe Bryant came on TNT one time and was talking with Charles Barkley and gang. When Barkley asked him about only taking 3 shots against Phoenix earlier, it resulted in back to back text messaging of insults. When they sat down to talk about it during halftime or postgame, Kobe said that he and his coach wanted to stick to the game plan. When Kobe scores as much as possible, Phoenix doesn't care and shrugs it off. HOWEVER, when he gets his teamates involved, it encourages them to play better defense and discourages Phoenix, because Phoenix has to guard other players including Kobe. And trust me, when everyone scores, defense is played better because it encourages them and makes them believe that if they can score on their opponent, then they can defend them. It worked well in game 1, 2, 3, 4. In game 5, they sucked, 6, Kobe hogged, and in 7, he tried to stick with the script. Phil Jackson is a smart coach, and I'll take Kobe's word on the whole mental effect of scoring, because I play team bball myself.
And I would just like to say that I feel so sorry for Kobe. I know he has a lot of haters, but he even gets criticized for everything he does. If he doesn't shoot, people tell him to shoot, if he shoots, people tell him to pass it up more. When he passes, his teamates don't score, and then people say that he should hog the ball. What do people want from him? Leave the guy alone, he is an amazing player and a tenacious defender. Possibly the only thing wrong with him is his attitude. I read in SI that he always felt out of place because he was a black man living in Italy. When he came to the US, he wasn't accusstomed to the complete ghetto attitude. I didn't finish the rest and didn't hear his other reasons, but even if he his a loner off the field, just leave him alone. Let the guy do what he wants, out of all the players in the NBA, he gets the most harsh treatment.

nah, he's just not that good without Shaq. :-)
Yah Kobe gets moody, like last year against the Kings, where he refused to take a shot in the second half. Maybe his teammates get on his case in the locker room.
Whatever the case, winning should be #1 on his list, no matter WHAT he has to do. This guy put up 81 points in one game and he can't get past the Suns? Cmon. Their D isn't *that* good.

ok first of all kobe is the best in the league...............games two three and four kobe was not SCORING THE BALL ALOT but he was gettin the team into the game like he said "i was trying to get my teammates into the game, they start making shots then the defense starts to pick up then we could go to work"
in game four kobe only scored ONE fg in the fourth qtr. but no one said ne thing y you ask? bc they won... kobe gets critisized by watever he does like in the game vs. the mavs they said he was tooo selfish not to go for 100 and then he scored 81 and they said he was too selfish for not passing the ball.........so nomatter what he does he will get critisized and we should all know that by now......but still everyone should still know that kobe is the best in the league and to answer your question kobe DID NOT THROW THAT GAME AWAY.

He did it on purpose. Probably somebody said something to him about sharing the ball and he didn't like that so he showed that what they would be without him. That's why Kobe is such a bad player. He doesn't like to share the ball and throws tantrums when things don't go his way.

kobe is my boy and all but i admit that i was really disappointed in him for giving up on the team, he just didn't give it enough effort to try and get the team back into the game.he has that mentality to put his game in full throttle, he's not that type to just give up like that.he needs to realize that he has to try his best to help his team in game, because he is the leader of that team and leaders never quit until its over.thats what really blew their chances on advancing to the finals.
