dam what a selection... it would be ignorant for me to say i don't like pink floyd but i could go the rest of my life, never hear another pink floyd song, and be perfectly happy they are over played and a little over rated if you ask me .. i mean i have to be high in order to listen to thier music... but tool is different i love a few songs they have, shism, sober, anemia, laterlus, part of me, and prison sex , but i really think they are extremely over rated they tend to randomly play riffs and solos tat have nothing to do with the rest of the song and they don't put their songs together too well.. and usually when i listen to a song that goes on for three- ten minutes i can get into the song but with tool i fail to really pay attention to the songs and occasionally even get aggrevated and annoyed by the songs... so after all that i can't really choose

I have heard many people say this, You cannot in any way, shape, or form compare the two. Tool is heavy metal and screamo...Pink Floyd is psychedelic and acid rock. Tool is not at all like Pink Floyd, that is a horrible comparison. The only thing I can compliment Tool on is Danny Carey's drumming.
