There is 100% solid solution for u. Follow guide lines:
1. Right Click on ur desktop empty area and choose "Properties"
2. Go to tab "Screen Saver"...click "Power" button
3. check all the tabs and adjust settings...
I suspect that u r suffering from "stand by"...

right click on your desktop,hit properties, this will bring up display settings,click the screen saver tab, power monitor and adjust it to never shut itself off to save power. see, it does it when you are idle for a certain ammount of time.

If you have it in standby, it will go off in a few hours. When you turn it back on and log in, everything's back where it was.

yea, powersaving control, right-click on your desktop and click the screensaver tab... set it up there

is it a laptop or a desktop, if its a laptop then make sure you have the charger pluged in.

if you leave it unattended, it may do that sometimes. goto control panel and check power saving options.
