definitely, I would see that all citizens of the country is well placed, with a nice home to reside in, good quality education to one and all, food & clothing for one and all, don't you think, if a person is provided all these, then why not that person will not work for the betterment of the whole country, thus the country will be prosperous and each one of the citizens will be employed and hardworking to ensure absolute peace of the country. A president is the one who will preside over the country for the benefit of one and all and keep up the image of the country to the envy of other countries.

First thing I would do; apologize to the world for our country's behavior for the past, well, a long while, and take the actions necessary to repair the damage we've done to ourselves and the world. Then I'd work on getting rid of all the old farts that seem to think Congress is a career instead of a public service. Ooo and put Karl Rove in jail to rot...I guess mostly I'd try to turn our country into what it claims to be, home of the brave, and land of the free.

Dock the pay of doctors, CEO's, football players and tax them higher. Raise the wages of Teachers, Nurses, Raise the minimum wage to 7 pound an hour. Raise drinking age to 21, ban smoking in all public places, in and out. Disarm the Trident Nuclear system, push forward with European Union...er...make higher education free to all, open up the red brick unis ie Oxford, to the greater masses..

I'll have one Tax on income and disregard NI, VAT, Counsel and tax on alcohol, cigarettes and petrol. I'll Ban all benefits apart from disability benefit for extreme cases but I will make sure all work places are accessible by 2008 and channel all taxes into paying for the NHS and schools. I'll also make sure it's allot harder for people to come and live here as I think our generosity has now well expired!
Take note Mr Blair I'll be doing your job soon.
