I am a step dad in a simular spot, and sometimes, I just let them go shopping by themselves, but the daughter doesn't like me going with her mom at all. She does not want to share her mom with me. She even hits me when I kiss her mom. She just turned 15. She has to realize her mother has a life as an adult, but that does not make her any less important. In my previous marriage, my wife was the step parent, and that was hard to. It takes work to bring broken families together. It is not easy.
I was raised by a step dad from age 8, so I have been there on both ends.

I had a very similar situation in my past. My step dad was so brutal to me. He hurt my feelings, put me down, took my Mom time away, made me stay out of the house on weekends and if I said anything, even real low he would tell me I was too loud and to 'shut my face'. I learned to stay away from him and find time with my Mom when he was at work or busy. I hope this helps you and good luck. Sorry your in such a bad situation.

Dear,
do you really think he is mean or are you bieng over possesive about your mum . Come on the guy married your mom and accepted you .All he is trying to do is to spend more time with you and your mom . you should rather let him try then trying to shut him out of your life bcos your mum married him and i am sure she would have married a nice guy not a jerk...

Speak with your mom, and let her know that you'd like to have some special time ALONE with her. And together make that special time happen. It's her place, not yours, to explain that to her husband.

why not talk to your mum?
ask her if you two can go shopping without butt-head next time.
she needs to face the fact that the situation isn't good for you.
