I'm type II bipolar, and yes it has affected my sex drive in the past (some anti-anxiety medication can result in a depleted sex drive as well). However, there is most likely something fundamentally wrong that is affecting his sex drive that goes beyond his regular ups and downs.

Bottom line is this: If he is bi-polar it is likely he is undergoing medical help. He needs to talk to his doctor to rule out any possibility of a physical ailments that is affecting his performance. If indeed this affliction is a result of medication, then his doctor can opt to adjust the dosage or brand of medication being used to facilitate a healthier labido.

If he isn't undergoing treatment, then I sincerely suggest that you encourage him to do so. Simply being bipolar should not completely deplete your sex drive, there's something else going on that he needs to be made aware of.

Yes Bi-Polar can have very strange effects on a person especially mood swings.
Your best bet for sex is long drawn out seductions.
use visual aids. like a VS catalog and ask him what outfits he likes best and have him circle a few. then you can buy one you like best and then plan seduction around this. clip out the picture. maybe use a camera and snap a picture just for him. or even take a video of you playing alone and sulk because he is not available then leave the video/pictures for him to find.

You can even leave notes and offer him a massage. ( Massages are very good thing for Bi-polar it is relaxing. can be set up in a non-erotic envirnment yet become very playful as you roam all over his body.
( FYI let him know after you finish the massage that he cannot have another massage until he gives you one) might encourage him to start touching you.

You can also buy a book about 101 romantic nights. ( this offers 50 different seductions for him/her to try out. it works best when you alternate each month/week and take turns suprizing each other.

God Bless

Yes I do feel that this can cause him not to want to be intimate with you because meds have side effects big time. You may want to talk with his doctor and let them know what is going on and see what can be done to improve this and ask them about viagara or goats weed or something like that. I know they also have vitamins for this too. I sure hope you can get help soon for this as it has to be very frustrating for you and for your husband.
He may very well want sex with you but the meds are making his body think and respond differently.

He is punishing you, honey. You did something he didn't like and that's how he gets to you. If he is bipolar, I'm not sure that would be a problem unless medication keeps him impotent. He maybe embarasses. Try cuddleing without demanding sex....just be close to him and love him. Soon he'll come around.

Certain meds can affect the sex drive.
Not being on them can effect it too.
Get involved.
Bi polar disorder can ruin a marriage.
I suffer from it. My husband doesn't understand. He doesn't go with me to Drs appointments, I wish he would!!!

He's home all the time because he's not working or what? At times when men don't hold jobs, they don't feel much like a man anymore because they aren't taking care of the family...I don't know if this is the problem or not...
