Okay, so I have bipolar which is hereditary. while I was pregnant with both of my sons i quit taking my medication. While pregnant with my first son Draven, I had many depressive episodes. Now he is five and has always been emotional. While pregnant with my second son Mason, I really didn't have many problems, and he has always seemed fine. Yes, children can be affected by stress, but there are also hereditary issues. I think Draven may have inherited a little of my illness and maybe Mason did not. But then again it could be nothing. When you are pregnant your hormones are whack, so if that is why you cry a lot, then chances are after the baby is born you will be back to normal and the baby should not pick up on extreme stress. So don't worry:)

I cried all the time when i was pregnant and daughter who is 12months is the happiest little creature. Even when she was a newborn we had to poke her just to make sure she was ok. Your hormones are doing crazy things right now. Remember all babies cry sometime, but a loving environment and lots of good booby food should keep it to a minimum.

I think stress or being upset a lot my have an effect on someones baby.
I do not think just because the mom cries a lot that the baby will too.

Hmmm it was true in my case :( I had very bad mood swings and depression. My baby too was very restless when she was born. They say the endocrines passes thru to the baby. So its better to stay calm rather than suffer later!

They say when you are nervous or upset that -that makes the baby be/feel that way to when they are in your stomach and after they are born.
I stayed nervous when i first had my son and it is like he picked up on it and it made him cry so yes i believe that

I don't think there is any connection. I think stress can affect your baby which may be where this idea is coming from.
