yes. but dont forget to do cardio with weight training, not just cardio alone. for best results, exercise AND eat a proper diet

170 lb is not healty for 23 year out any ways if you short is really bad it make it worse. whats your height. be careful what you eat. gym is not enough you have to work at it home like situps pushup walk around in your neighbor hood. you should lose 40 pounds so you be more healty.i'm 24 i weigh 135 watch what you eat take care of yourself because know that you an adult you can gain more weight will be bad for you cholestrol.

It will help if you use the equipment. If you don't go to the gym be sure to use a pedometer to count how many steps you take. You have to have at least 10,000 steps a day to become fit
