You have no idea how many people are going to read what you write, so why not take the time to make sure your thoughts are clearly laid out. And use coherent abbreviations such as "don't" or "I've" not that stupid "ru" or "i like 2" bull. And for future reference, the letter "i" is always capatilized when by itself in a sentence.

I agree to a point. It seems like some of these questions are asked with an accent? (broken English). People are in a hurry now a days. With the texting and short cuts for everything. Spelling has gone by the way side. Gramme/Grammar check is just to time consuming to use. Gramme/Grammer/Grammar

The art of writing has been replaced by e-mail and text messages. Yes, it is cute to show your joy with a :) but that is not proper use of the language. That type of usage should be kept for chatting with friends on the Internet or over your mobile phone, but has no place in a business or mass communications environment.

Just as it is not appropriate to refer to your boss as "dude!!", the use of slang, however high tech, should not be in the business world.

I do so totally agree with you. I find messages hard to read when one letter is used for a whole word. Brevity has taken the place of proper grammar unfortunately. Anything to save a couple of seconds. I guess it's the world we live in. I won't do it though.

Semanticly speaking, all points are getting across ... and I find the creative termimology to be quite interesting. Though seldom elloquent. Very entertaining actually, from my perspective.

who has the time? idea is to get the idea across. Its not that you are writing a book.
btw: you took time to point flaws in others--but your own prose is fraught with structural compositional errors--albeit none spelling wise I am sure you made sure of that. so however hard you try--mistakes are bound to creep in.
bottom line--who has the ***ing time.

I don't have a problem with ppl taking shortcuts, but bad grammar/misspelling definitely makes me question the intelligence of the typist.

using a lower case "i" = ok
not knowing when to use "your" vs. "you're" = stupid
