in order to join a chatroom you will first have to follow their instructions on how to set up a user profile...in much the same way as you set this profile up for Yahoo Answers..then you log on and just start typing/chatting away

Download yahoo messenger and access chat rooms from there. You need to sign up first though.

Yep, Yahoo! has already desecrated whatever was left of the legacy of Chat-Rooms. So don't bother yourself with one, unless you've got a time-machine.

Chat rooms work just like any instant messenger program, except that multiple people send and get you(r) messages.
