I worked at GAP for five years. I already know how the name originated. The family that started the clothing store was not even gay. This is just something that was created in the minds of people later on that wished it meant that. It is false.
People even have it on T-Shirts saying "GAP - God Answers Prayers".

the keep does not truly stand for that. yet hollow is an acronym utilized by making use of the gay community for gay and Proud. case in point: a gay guy could positioned the letters hollow on his myspace. many gay people decide to humorous tale and say- i will keep at hollow. (and chortle with the aid of fact it truly is a play on words)

I agree, Jared.
However, I assumed it always meant, "Geriatric Asexual Pickles."
or- "Gastrointestinal Active Parasites"
(wow, that sounds great! :-D)
But "Generic Arrogant Preppies" describes all the shoppers at the store JUST fine.
The whole Gay and Proud thingy... yeah... urban legend. Never proven. Look more into it. Meow, I suppose.

That is totally incorrect. The name GAP was inspired by the desire to cater for a gap in the market - I think between cheap and rich.

No it doesn't. I searched GAP and it told me what it meant and it did not mean that. You can not be gay and proud all at the same time.

Sounds like urban legend to me.
Judging from the people that shop GAP, my guess is that "Generic Arrogant Preppies" is more accurate.
