One thing I have noticed that it is Extremely easy to get into a relationship with someone who emotionally, mentally and verbally abuses them. It can be very hard to get out of a relationship because you can be in love with the person too.

Many times people's upbringing affect their way of taking actions and affects their decisions to take care of themselves and to put themselves first. People are not always given tools to help themselves out of situations and fix things for themselves.

Many times women (and men) feel that they HAVE to please their man (or woman) anyway they can even if it means sacrificing themselves in the process. People are not always taught to take care of themselves first.

When they get into sticky situations, they are confused and unsure where to go. Sometimes people want validation on their feelings and support for their actions because they may not have support in their own lives.

Also it can be hard to see the situation when you are right in the middle of it. It helps to get outsiders perspectives on things to show you what you are unable to see for yourself at the time.
