I can email pics of the snake. I caught it in Southern Philippines. It has black and white horizontal stripes then one long orange vertical strip going down from head to tail. The head is totally black with two thin white horizontal stripes. I'm trying to find the name and to know if it is poisonous. Serious answers only and send me your email address so I can send the photos.

I am not sure what you mean by "horizontal". It almost implies along the length of the body, but you called the orange head to tail stripe "vertical. " Except for the orange stripe, it could be a banded sea snake. If it has an flattened paddle like tail (made for swimming) it is. Juvenile snakes in North America will sometimes have colors that fade as they grow.

If it is a sea snake, it is rather venomous, though they have to be rudely provoked to bite in defense. Still, you should let it go.
