A lot of people have been talking about Black history month, Black rights and things having to do with race tonight.
Annual reports via the FBI hate crime studies unit show that the majority of hate crimes are commited by Blacks. Black hate crimes against Arabs is the most commonly commited hate crime.
I hear black people call other races names all the time, I live in an area where there is a larger black population then in other areas. I never hear anyone who isn't black say ****er, yet Black people call me Go*k and they call other people names like Wetb*ck, Sand-****er and Cracker. (I apologize for the *'s)
My question is, why is this acceptable? Why is it okay for one race to act in a way that makes other people sad or upset and then they complain about how everyone mistreats them and is racist towards them, when in fact they are the ones mistreating people?

I would like to respond to some of the answers so far. Some of you said that Black people do not commit the majority of hate crimes. This information is directly off of the FBI website. Could you inform me on why the FBI would choose to make up these numbers?
Also, I am not stupid. I know all black people are not racist. At my college, there are very few racist people in general. I have a few black friends as well who are not racist.

Well As an African Americam Women/ BLACK, I will say you are right to think that we are one sided on some issues. I myself wonder why we have such double standards with other races but don't see the lack of respect that we have for ourselves and other races. But it is all a part of our education and surroundings. You can't judge all blacks as one and that is why many of us get offended because we are usually judge off what leroy or tasha down the street said. Just like with all races we have our bad seeds and we have our good seeds. Don't try to figure out the ways of my black people because we haven't figured it out yet. But it is not to different from whites and so on. Just get to know us and people in general as individuals and you will respect and understand that person much more.

What exactly is a hate crime???
they are attempting to punish a person based on their thoughts which is wrong and is a slippery slope that we shouldn't go down
For instance. I'm walking down the street (I used to live in a kind of Ghetto in NE. Portland) and a Black Guy starts to harass me and My Girlfriend (calls her skinny white *****) I am not one to get in allot of fights anymore, but I do not walk away in my neighborhood either. So we go a few rounds and as I kick him while he's on the ground I yell (as I am very mad at this point) various racial slurs. I get arrested and charged for going overboard and while I'm talking to the Police they bring up the possible charge of a hate crime.. Did we fight because I hate Ni**ers??? No we fought because he was acting like one.
I'm not sorry for the epitaph as people have called me a Redneck when I act like one. and i can accept that.
The whole point is a hate crime can always be misinterpreted and they often are. when people say things to you or to others that are, to you, offensive, well that's life. we do it all the time, it isn't right but it happens. Just deal with it when it comes up, Don't put up with it and people from all races will hopefully get the picture that it won't be tolerated.
Fortunately people are starting to get over their political correctness and "White Guilt" that came upon us in the 1970's and is finally dissipating.

i'm a practising Christian and a member of a non secular order. I even have 4 college levels (none from a non secular college), consisting of a regulation degree. I even have spent my grownup life thinking my very own non secular ideals and am of the opinion that, having executed so has made those ideals lots extra shield with the aid of fact they have been examined the two by making use of the reward of a sturdy preparation and the analytical kit that consequence from a sturdy preparation. whether or no longer any ecclesial community the two particularly "helps" or encourages me to proceed this technique of finding out is truly irrelevant. no person has ever tried to end me, and any attempt to realize this could have been futile. Having spent extra years than I care to admit having pursued this technique, I even have come to the opinion that any non secular faith that doesn't entertain doubt is a faith no longer well worth having. (additionally, "technology," as in empirically based actual propositions, and "information" are no longer unavoidably the comparable ingredient.) Grace be unto you and peace.

It is not acceptable in my reasoning. I am sick of black people thimking that they are still oppressed. And, thinking that that since their great, great, great grandfathers were oppressed, they must be as well. Keep in mind that I am speaking generally here. There are many african americans who know better, but the are way too many willing to let a 225 year old excuse determine what they do, or not do. It is way past time to let that go, and for them to do something other than harm each other, and actually make progress.

It's not acceptable at all, but it's not all black people who do those kinds of things. There are good and bad people in all races of people. By the way, what is the validity of your so called facts, studies, and opinions? That's really pathetic that you've lied about all that. Here is an article that proves your lies wrong.

Because they feel they are entitled to. While I know a lot of racist white people, I also have met a lot of very racist black people in my life. I think they are the worst racists of any race. It's like they have the right but noone else does.

most hate crimes are not commited by blacks, i don't even know a single black person that dislikes a middle eastern person, i have tons of middle eastern friends, why are you making this up? you must have been hurt by a black person,if so i'm sorry, i ususlly see other races making fun of their own race, and no racism on anyones part is acceptable.

You're stereotyping. I don't hate anyone. I don't commit hate crimes.
Racism or hate from anyone is unacceptable and so is making blanket generalizations about a whole race of people, which is just as bad.

It's not acceptable, but don't judge a group of people, by the acts of a few. You will always find one rotten apple in a barrel of apples.

tough question ...
maybe the best answer would be to focus concern on developing your own enlightenment ,,, and not to allow the perceived 'suffering of the world' to erode your own inner peace.
there are MANY answers "why" xyz happens ... and some people are ready to hear some of them ... and be helped by this hearing ... while others are not.
it is not your "purpose" to "save the world" ... heal yourself first, and when possible ease the suffering of others
