Brooke (not Brookes/Brooks) Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas

Denzel Washington made an undisclosed donation to Fisher House after touring the one at Brooke. His donation is for Fisher House in general, not a specific one. He also has agreed to serve on the Fisher House board of trustees.

Fisher House is a program that provides special housing at each of the Army's major medical centers for the families of soldiers who are receiving medical treatment, often from being wounded on duty.

Fisher house is either a facility or a group of facilities where family members can stay for no cost or reduced cost, which helps ease the burden of possibly having made a long and expensive trip to be by the bedside of a family member and to make it possible for even low income families to be able to stay close by.

Seikilos answered the question pretty well. The only thing I have to add is: when have you ever seen a liberal puke do anything good for service members? Denzel Washington rocks! The bunch of whiny little liberal weasels we see protesting the war every day would rather see service members in a casket than in a hospital; and could care even less about military family members.

It's true that he donated lots of money to the hospital, but I'm not sure what it was for. I've seen pictures and stories about this on the internet, but I couldn't tell you where. It wasn't highly publicized because he didn't do it for publicity. He did it out of the kindness of his heart. Nice man.
