My husbands mother used to lie to him and tell me the truth. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I always told him what she said. He didn't believe me until he caught her lying to him then started taking it out on me, blaming me, etc. One day we were fighting about it and she came over and got in the middle. Since then he hasn't talked to her - I still do for the sake of our children. He has let up on me a real lot, but still says he cannot trust another woman and has not been happy since. He says he wants to "move past it" but doesn't know how and asked me for suggestions. He went to counseling, but says they don't give him any answers so he will not spend money on it. We both feel he cannot get closure from his mother because she won't be honest. Personally I feel if I got past the way he treated me over her then. . .and that we made it through should have brought us closer - he should be turning to me instead of away. Any advice I can give him would be greatly appreciated

P.S. The thing she lied to him about was how much money she was taking from the company owned by him and his father and where it was going. Then she kept saying she stopped taking money from it for personal use and told his father everything when she didn't.

I'll tell you the best advice that I ever got.... people don't act the way you want (expect) them to. Whether it's your parents or someone else, sometimes when you think a person should love you a certain way they are not always able to do so. He just has to know that's how she is and to be able to have a relationship knowing what she does. Good luck.

He needs to know his mother loves him and was trying to protect him. Blood is thicker than water; and forgiveness is a blessing. Judge ye not lest you be judged. God Bless.
