When I was in High School, there was no soccer team. There's been no interest in soccer until the last 10-15 years.

its not so much that they suck .... umm i think this world cup the coach like messed it up for them .. he was to defensive and gave them the wrong mind set . ....and ummm also I'm from a different country and over there all we do is soccer , all year long and the most important thing is soccer. Everyone plays it and pretty much your world revolves around it . in the USA you have other things such as football baseball basket ball that attract attention .. so you dint focus so much in soccer , soccer here is very underrated as to if you compared it to anywhere else in the world or at least most country's soccer is the number 1 thing and they keep getting better and better every year.

Cause Americans could not give a rat's a.s.s about the sport. I mean, how many Americans actually watch a game of soccer on TV. Nobody.
It's sad cause the rest of the world want America to like the sport but honestly, no matter how much they try, America DOES NOT and will never like the sport!!!
So quit wasting your time.

Because they don't play soccer, but football (with their hands), or is that rugby?....anyway, it seems most of them even don't know that is a world cup going on, they don't care...do they actually know about something? or care about something?...sorry, I shouldn't be implying those questions...after all I don't know English...English is my second language...by the way it's football, not soccer, no no no...it's rugby, because, football is played with the foot not with the hands.....god!!! it's my English again...!!!
By the way, don't make too many questions, because they don't care or they don't know, or isn't popular in America...

HMmmmm, we could say that about the other teams as well. Don't just pick on the Americans, you might not like our team, but sure as heck know how to play the game.

You watch the slow paced and repetitive Baseball yet you think "Football" sucks? Grow up and watch some South American Football. Then tell me that "sucks".

it is not really their game .
not what they play as kids or in the schools
so it comes much later in life for most or only some americans.
in Europe and latin America,Africa,and a lot more places, all the kids in the street play football.

Because America sucks at anything that isn't bred and groomed in this country. Basketball, baseball, and football we can hold our own. But other than that, we're pathetic.

they don't. you have the MLS which is doing good. Its more like the US kind think it is going to advance with out work hard and that back fired in this world cup.

They aren't used to international play, they all play in MLS which is a joke compared to Europe's leagues.
