Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini. When his best friend, a young clergyman, is killed in a mockery of a duel by an arrogant noble, just to quiet his eloquent expressions of democratic ideals, Andre-Louis Moreau vows revenge. From that point, through meteoric careers as a consummate actor and scenario writer, then as a fencing master, and finally a politician, the brilliant Moreau keeps thwarting the aims of the aristocratic Marquis de la Tour d'Azyr. However, the nobleman causes pain to Moreau as well, and the time must come when the two will meet to settle their enmity once and for all. You are not likely to guess how their confrontation finally turns out. Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, this swashbuckling novel is exciting throughout, and it presents one of the most dashing heroes in fiction, a man who can fight equally well with his mind, his mouth, his pen, and his sword, a man who stirs up events wherever he goes.

I just finished an unabridged audio book by David Baldacci. He wrote "Absolute Power", "Total Control", The Winner", "Last Man Standing" and "The Simple Truth". The one I just listened to/read was "The Christmas Train". It was a bit different than his other books, in that it was witty and funny. It had romance, an avalanche that stranded the train in the mountains of Colorado. I really enjoyed it.
I also just finished "Last To Die" by James Patterson. He writes a lot of Alex Cross books, like "Along Came A Spider", "Cat & Mouse" and "Kiss The Girls". But this is a different series from him involving the Women's Murder Club, which consists of four women. A female police sargent, a female coroner, a female crime reporter and a female district attorney. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and sometimes in tears or laughter.
But wait, I just finished a third book that I've read before by one of my favorite authors', Clive Cussler. He wrote "Sahara", which was just made into a movie. The book was one of his earlier ones, "Cyclops". It's been a while since I've read it, and this time it was an unabridged audio book. It was a great edge of your seat nail bitter.

~Oliver has a good Twist. Try, oh, Henry. Tornado also has a twister two. Stephen King is just plain twisted. So's Poe.

Well, it doesn't really have much of a twist, but everyone should read 1984 by George Orwell.
