how do you become an actor or an actress or a singer?

i want to be famous

first, pick one. if you want to be an actress:

1. take a good headshot, i'm taking one next week with zen todd, get a commercial (happy), theatrical (serious), and one more (business or punk/sexy)
2. get about 100 prints of each
3. buy a yellow booklet called "The Agencies" at Samuel French
4. send your headshots to agencies that are looking for what you are, and follow up with them
5. sign up for actorsaccess.com, nowcasting.com, lacasting.com. Those 3 are the biggest industry websites I know. The last 2 are not free if you're non-union. Using these, you can submit directly for roles for everything film/tv/commercial/theatre.

If you want to be a singer:

1. sing at clubs/bars and get discovered
2. write your own songs
3. join a band that needs a singer
4. get discovered any way that you can (american idol)
