If your hypothyroidism is under control. You should be able to go on a regular diet like anyone else. When it's under control its as thought your body does not have the disease so you have to make sure it controlled. Other that that I would suggest an ADA diet.

This condition causes a sluggish metabolism due to the reduced levels of thyroxin in your blood stream, which can have weight gain implications. There can also be more serious side effects of hypothyroidism and this condition should be brought under control with synthetic hormone replacement therapy before you do anything. You need to see your Doctor so that your thyroxin level can be brought back to normal again. You will feel so much better and any diet you go on will work better too.

I was diagnosed as hypothyroid by my doctor about 2 1/2 years ago. No matter how we tweaked the Levothyroxin, I continued to experience bloating, painful trapped gas, post-nasal drip and congestion, which I had been experiencing all my life (I am 49 years old) and extreme fatigue which had been on-going for a few years. I didn't seem to be able to get enough sleep, couldn't make it through a day at the office and only wanted to sleep all the time. Starting the diet in early November brought about immediate positive results. ALL the above-mentioned symptoms literally disappeared!! I was so excited I would wake up early each morning, ready to meet the day. THANK YOU for all you've introduced me to, https://vids.im/LowThyroidTreatment_kCN . I thank God for your research...
