Kegels, sleep, read, knit, write in a journal, look out the window (my favorite), talk to interesting strangers, steal a uniform and play stewardess, start at the very beginning and balance your checkbook down to the last penny, write thank you notes that are years overdue, recline, lower the tray table, order crap from skymall.
* don't do your nails or any other hygiene practices on the plane. That's pretty inconsiderate of your fellow passengers.

Sleep, eat, read a book or magazine, do the gameboy thing, listen to an ipod, draw, listen to other people's conversations, watch the in-flight movie, drink, do a crossword/suduku/word find puzzle, play one of those travel games like Yahtzee, listen to a tape that teaches you a foreign language, watch music videos on an ipod, draw, plan what you'd do if you were able to take over the world, but most importantly, be sure to get up and walk for just a little every hour or so - you don't want to get blood clots in your legs!

If you haven't already, check out the most recent book from your library about the place that you're going to and then make a list of some of the most interesting places that you'd like to see and will have time to see while you're on your trip.
If its a red eye flight it's always a good idea to bring one of those shoulder pillow wraps and just get some shut eye. That beats nasty jet lag.
