Its just a joke....I know its a bad tatse joke, but those whom really knows me, know that US is my second team since the US World Cup.....I didn't like the samba joke. People whom know, a little about soccer knows arrogance doesn't macth with the sport...a lesson US supose had learned from The game played against Italy, where US didn't only play but shown respect on keeping things clean, even with that corrupted referee, that I learn from an english friend, he has laready previous cases of corruption.

They will learn how to play when they have the passion to play. Because you can only be good at a sport if u love it, not if you are there to make money.

US soccer team may not be the best, but at least it manages to qualify for the world cup, remember that there are close to 200 countries in the world, given the public interest for soccer in the US, US being able to consistently qualify for the final 32 is, IMHO, respectable accomplishment, besides, you can always look at China for comfort, being a country with 1.3 billion people and fever level interest for soccer, China only managed to qualify for the world up once, and it is qualified only because that Korea and Japan co-hosting the event removed its two biggest competitors.

very offensive answers to a very logical question....
for starters....
basketball... did we lost in the olympics even sending millionaries professional players there?
baseball.. did not we were eliminated last year by Mexico in the world championship?
I think ythe problem is that futbol (or soccer if you prefer) is not a game where there is a lot of anotations (like basketball or baseball), and also there is the draw problem
Americans in general want to see more scoring (If you think about it there is sometimes some football games where technically there is only 1 scoring but is counted as 6 points)
that question remind me one that someone asked me... of 200 millions... when is the next chess champion will be?
lol... remember.. I'm just a girl a know nothing about sports
peace

25 years from now we will be very good. Soccer is more and more popular in the US. We just have to wait for the young stars to rise to the top. Although, US soccer will NEVER be as good as other countries until is becomes a more popular sport to watch and play, like in Brazil, where kids play every day of their life.

I told u guys that the US wasn't going to go to the next round because it does not have the experience as other teams and BESIDES even if they did Americans r 2 worried about who will make it to the Superbowl, I'm sorry but it will take years and years for the U.S to learn how to play football with passion not because they feel that they need to dominate at everything and needed a team.

The U.S.A. knows how to play soccer. Soccer is a game of the world, and the U.S. has some great players, and we are improving every year. Someday the U.S. will win the World Cup.

i don't know if the world wants Americans to be interested in soccer...if we are, the best players will go from America and will will dominate that sport, like we do the Olympics...we are good now with not many people interested in the sport...imagine what would happen if Americans were interested in soccer....

Americans know how to play soccer, they just don't know how to broadcast it with plenty of commercials. Soccer will not become popular in the US (on a grand scale) until they add a T.V. Time-Out to the game.

they can...who said the whole world can.. anywayz im proud to say....that usa doesnt treat soccer as an essence to life or worship it everyday......like you and other countries. i just realized that your avatar looks like it needs glasses...since its quinting and all... and yes..if they didnt know how to play..they wouldnt of qualified....considering the other countries that all they do is worship soccer...and still not qualify...so i think usa knows hows to play and yet they dont worship soccer like other countries do...atleast usa has multiple sports...to keep interest up in sports instead of just watching soccer....forever
and for the person above me...we dont feel that we need to dominate at everything...just because usa participates in more sports...doesnt mean we think we have to dominate....anywayz isnt that what teams want to do..is be the best at what they do?

I think they're already pretty good. Wasn't it just several years ago when the US won the women's world soccer championship? The one with Mia Hamm and Michelle Akers? Then again, maybe it's just the women who play well!
