just a bit of help, have an apearance of weight is not an issue, medicaly, job performance, etc...

if the job is being on your feet, then "your hobbies" are walking, musuems, etc..

people may have an internal thought as you may be unable to perform the job, so give them an example that you can

just my 2 cents, hope it helps

Yes, I'm sorry to say. It depends on how overweight the person is and on the type of job they're seeking. In some jobs employers won't care i.e. if you're a scientist stuck in a lab all day or doing research, they'll be more interested in your brain, but if you're looking for a job as a bank teller, with customer contact, it will be an issue.
Thing is, you can be big, but you can't be obese or flabby. Sorry if that sounds crude, but unfortunately we're in an image crazy society and looks are almost as important as skills.

yes they are being looked down on. It is just like smokers. Being fat is not protected just like smoking or being a redneck. If you are too fat you will not be able to stand on your feet for 8 to 12 hours a day which would cost the employer money in the long run. You would make the health insurance go up. So answer is yes.

Absolutely unless you are being interview by another obese person.
You are going to be representing their company, why would they want someone that turns off their customer on first sight. The stereotype of fat people being lazy, sloppy, lacking self control is not without foundation, while it certainly isn't true of all, why take the chance?

It depends on the position they are applying for , obviously, one can not be obese and be a flight attendant, but if they are going into a food tasting position or working for a candy shop, or anything that has to do with food or massage, ect.

Well I too are a heavy person. I haven't thought of that. I just keep my fate. Every job I went after and really wanted, GOD gave it to me.
