I've read all of them. I used to be a big Stephen King fan but he was best earlier. I think he is slipping. Dean Koontz never fails. One of my favorites is " From the Corner of his Eye". But you can't go wrong with any of them.

My fav Dean Koontz book is the door to december.A psychiatrist's daughter was kidnapped by her ex-husband years ago. When the daughter is finally found, the real fight begins. One by one the people who held her captive become mysteriously tortured and killed. Everyone is afraid the young girl will be next.

The mystery unravels as to what happened to the young girl while she was kidnapped. The young girl, Melanie, is unable to speak, but her mother soon learns that the young girl went through extreme torture as her father used her for a rat in his experiments.

Odd thomas and Forever odd by Dean Thomas. These books are about Odd Thomas who see dead people and is compelled to solve crimes.

dark rivers of the heart
dragon tears
mister murder
cold fire
the bad place
midnight
lightening
the servants of twilight
watchers
strangers
the door to december
twilight eyes
phantoms
the house of thunder
the eyes of darkness
the funhouse

(short stories)
trapped (and the novel)
miss attilla the hun
hardshell
the black pumpkin
down into the darkness
night of the storm
we three
ollie's hands
bruno
the kittens

and probably quite a few more that i can't think of right off the top of my head. i have to say that "lightening" is my all-time favorite, followed close by "watchers" and "from the corner of his eye". "intensity" was pretty awesome, and i can't think of which one it is right off the top of my head, but the one where the guy takes the names of actors, uses false names, and goes on the run because the gov't dude is after him to kill him as some kind of mercy act.........??? i think i've got it listed but im really not for sure on this one. any way the character's name was spencer tracy, im pretty sure (and he had a dog).

My favorite to date is Lightning.

Since you like Knootz so much, you might want to look into Ted Dekker. He's often referred to as the Dean Knootz of Christian thriller/suspense.

My favorite is Three. The movie adaption is in post production.

His website is www.teddekker.com
