Hello to everyone from all over the world, I would love to hear your responses to this question.
I know that McDonalds in Australia has definitely decreased the size of their burgers (but still cost the same). Dominos are just as bad, they have reduced the size of their pizzas, but kept the same size box (ever notice how Dominos call their pizza "large", but never give diameter like other pizza places?).
Is downsizing happening everywhere? If so, please share your experiences and opinions of downsizing.
Happy Answering!

This is a losing proposition. I bet that price hasn't been downsized. How are the people, who are not obese and who take steps to prevent this, being served by this? I did hear that Wendy's is downsizing the wording, but the caloric intake is still the same.

Some of my information here may not be 100% accurate, because I was driving and don't remember the exact details of the new report, but it's pretty dam close.
Wendy's in the USA will change the oil they use for their french fries, making them more healthy (with less transfats).
However, to make up for that improvement, they are changing the way they size their sodas (soft drinks/soda pops/whatever you call them in your area of the world). The BIGGIE will become a "Medium", and the mega BIGGIE (I don't know the real name) will become the "Large". The Small size will actually be about 20 oz. The "Large" if I am not mistaken, will be about 1/2 a gallon (64 ounces/about 2 liters) and will only be available in a plastic pail (just kidding, plastic cup) which people can take with them after the meal.

with the downsising they should lower prices but ingredients may be costing more now and they would rather downsize than up the prices. and look at ity this way. it will keep you from eating as much junk food and mabe make you not eat it at all! notice how a large potatoe chip bag is usualy 3/4 full and not filled to the rim?

Since I've become aware of how large our servings are here in America I down-size portions myself. When I eat fast foods I get the regular size, I only eat 1 of the buns, and when possible I get the salad instead of the fries. After doing that for awhile now I don't miss the "biggie" sizes.

hmmm now that you mention that yes i have noticed it. But really is it a bad thing. They are probably downsizing to make their calories look lower and therefor you are going to eat a smaller piece and take in smaller calories...so it could be okay. But it would be nice if they downsize the prices too!

I haven't noticed any difference at McD. Haven't had Domino's in years. I'd stick to Papa John's.
