have you ever seen a sleeping baby? They look so peaceful. They're talking about the time that the baby actually sleeps.

I think that it's because babies don't have a care in the world, their minds are free of stress, worry and clutter and they are free to just enjoy their sleep. Babies do not wake up every two hours, most sleep peacefully through the night.

Now newborns-- completely different story. The expression is not 'I slept like a newborn'

Babies may wake up every two hours screaming but they have no worries. They have a solid sleep and can wake up refreshed even after only having two hours of sleep.

Dude...I thought the SAME thing yesterday - we are transitioning our daughter to the crib and it has been rough! Babies have SO many issues sleeping...what is wrong with people? The people who made up that statment probably never had kids!

My babies *never* woke up screaming. Screaming is a sign that you weren't paying attention when they tried to get your attention using more gentle means, *not* a normal event of infancy.

I don't know myself. But I also think it's a funny thing to say. I have one kid and another on the way. I pity anyone who slept like my first did!
