When people live together they usually come to some sort of agreement on who pays for what. A lot of people live together before marriage to see if it's going to work out. You never really know someone until you try and live with them.

Sometimes they live together to find out if they should get married. You never really know a person until you've lived with them for a while. Expenses should be divided up according to how much each person makes. If they make the same it should be 50-50. If one person makes 60% more than that person should pay 60%. I don't think you can be happy if one person is struggling and the other person is living large. I lived with my husband for 9 years and then when we decided to have a child we got married. We've been married now for 15 years. It works for some and not for others.

I live with a man and we are planning on getting married someday but it is just not the rite time and also we split bills 50/50 with a promisesary note. That away if ones desides to split the other one doesn't get stuck paying all the debts.

They don't get married because they enjoy their selfish life of sin too much. They feel this way they can leave at any moment without all the complications of marriage. It's ridiculous.
Don't ever live with someone before you are married. Most of these relationships end in divorce. You have no right to have "relations" with someone unless they are your spouse.

Traditionally, a man pays for everything and works himself silly and a woman stays at home, watches kids, cleans house, etc.
However, we no longer live in traditional times, in today's world, the man could stay at home and do the cooking and the cleaning while the woman goes to work and brings home the paychecks. And both would still remain equally respected

some people arent ready to commit themselves to one person the rest of their life. and, some people have relationship problems they have to work out before getting married. or they have to get their lives worked out outside of the relationship before getting married. or they cant afford getting married...
people usually split the costs of everything. or theres a "bread winner" who makes the most money and pays for most of it.

commitment phobes. you should always get married before you live together. otherwise, you're just "playing house" and either player can leave at any time. If they do get married, they're less likely to take their vows seriously.
