According to the definition, it's got to be a public figure. I guess that includes both the pope and every last actor in a popular sit-com.

As important as having more than just a burgeois status. Eg. Noblemen, Presidents, Kings and Queens, etc...

murder is just killing someone. assassination is killing someone for political purposes.
