why my daughter (9 mos.) sticks her fingers down her throat and gags herself? I has only resulted in her vomiting once and I take her finger out of her mouth as soon as I see her or hear her do this. I'm just wondering why she does it.

All three of my children did this too. It is quite normal but scary. Keep pulling her fingers out of her mouth but I think that the only way for her to stop is to get tired of the feeling and just quit doing it on her own.
Asking your daughters Pediatrician is always an option. He/she may have a better way to help you out.

It's the same as when they suck their thumbs; it's a comfort behaviour. My 4 1/2 month old is doing it right now and it usually means that she is a little tired and she is relaxing herself. My 8 year old did it also and it was basically the same story with her as well.

All babies do it!! It's that phase of putting things in their mouths. Just be careful that she doesn't putting anything else in her mouth. My 18 month daughter is just starting to give me things she finds before putting it in her mouth. Its just a stage, they'll grow out of it.

Babies do the strangest things! maby there is a sensation she likes, maby she is playing, learning or giving herself something to do............waite until she laughs and scares herself or makes a loud noise and then all you hear is her screaching cause she just likes to hear herself....babies are so cool!

No big deal just make sure she doesn't choke on her vomit. She'll grow out of it.
