Wow, that Timmy Green guy is a real nut.

First of all, it's clearly obvious, and even apparently obvious to astute youngsters like your own, that insurgents aren't the only ones dying in Iraq.

Yes, innocent women, children and men are being killed by the dozens each and every day. Not all of it is at the hands of President Bush or Americans. Unfortunately when we drop our bombs on Iraqi cities there are gonna be some innocent deaths, as is the nature war.

That's a rather cold explanation, but that's the most honest way i can say it without interjecting my own political opinions on the matter.

While it appears evident to most sensible Americans that Dubya has lied our nation into an unnecessary war, not everyone is prepared to accept that reality. And that's a pretty screwed up thing, if you think about it. How many people have died needlessly and for nothing?

2500+ Americans have been KIA.

Unknown thousands of Americans has died as a result of their wounds while being transported to medical facilities. (The Pentagon refuses to release that number, but many estimate that it's between 7,000-9,000.)

Thousands upon thousands of Americans have been maimed or lost an eye or limb.

Dubya says only 30,000 Iraqis have been killed, but a lot of experts think that number is potentially in the six figures.

And more and more die every day. Man ... how do you explain that to a child??

Kids are going to see what is going on no matter what. They will hear adults talk. Just explain that sometimes people do not realize the consequences of their actions due to anger. If he asks what do you mean then put it in his terms ( If someone steals something from him and he hits them at that time he isn't thinking about getting in trouble just pay back.) He is still to young to know everything and your feelings on Bush. It is pretty sad to know that a 6 year old can see what is going on and not adults.

To the people saying Bush is not killing innocent people what do you think happens when a bomb is dropped in the middle of the city? There is going to be innocent life's lost. Get out from under your rocks and open your ears and eyes if a 6 year old can pick up on this then why can't you?

Unfortunately you can not shelter him from this war. It is everywhere (radio, news, and newspapers) where ever you go there is bound to be someone talking about this war. Just put it as simple as you can. And stick by how you feel. Unfortunately you can not stop people from being ignorant but you can take this time to teach a bright mind. I hope everything works out I am sure you will figure out just what to say he sounds smart enough to understand however you explain it.

The "killing of innocent people" are your words - not your son's. It is also things contained on the biased liberal press. You should show him some pictures (not graphic ) of the attacks of 9/11 and explain how we were attacked and many innocent people were killed. Explain how we have had to do what we have done to protect this country and do whatever we can to eliminate an enemy that would gladly kill you and your son if they had a chance to do so. This shouldn't be too hard to do.

Tell him that we were attacked and because of that we have gone to war. During war unfortunately some people get hurt who shouldn't. It is not done intentionally but sometimes it happens. Bush is not intentionally hurting these people but 3000 Innocent Americans were killed and we as a nation had to respond. Bush had the unfortunate responsibility of doing that task since he was President when it happened.

Then I would try and figure out how he came to such a conclusion if you yourself didn't tell him. I would go ballistic if someone tried to teach politics to my son behind my back, with out my consent, and without my knowledge.

I had little understanding of war and terrorism when I was 11 durring the Golf War, let alone 6. You can tell him that is the result of war and that its not really his intention to kill innocent people. Truly, its your choice of how you want to influence his political values since you are his parent. When I was 11 all that I understood was that Sadam was an evil dictator who we were at war with over oil. I didn't even understand why were were at war over oil or how to determine if we were winning or not. Shockingly when I had found out we were going to war with Iraq, I thought that it was stupid and that we were smarter and better than that since we now have the capibility to blow up the entire world. Although I knew better than to put down what we were doing as a country because there were so many people fighting overseas for us. Now that I think of it, I guess I knew more than I thought at that age.

Who told this child that? And you don't know how to answer it? How about give the child some facts and not some liberal bias BS. Talk about 9/11 and thousands of innocents that were killed in this country. Talk about the thousands of people murdered by their own leader in mass graves. War is hell, and sometimes innocents are hurt and even killed. Its not the intention to do that. Be an adult. You want to raise a child on half truths, its your business.

Your son is doomed because you're an idiot. The President is not killing innocent people. He is protecting this country and the world from terrorism. He is preserving your son's future.

Why don't you explain to your son, if you even have the ability, that the President is protecting people from the evil terrorists who killed thousands of innocent Americans by flying planes into buildings, who indiscriminately blow up random women and chidren, and behead innocent people for thrills? Or you could continue to live in your bitter fantasy world and indoctrinate your poor child into your socialist cult of negative spin.

i would try to be honest as possible. explain that the people that are sometimes in charge of the rules don't always make good rules, and the people get a chance every four years to try and change the rules (or rulers) to make the world a better place. tell him it's not always this way, that we have had some wonderful and great leaders that he will learn about soon in school...maybe you could even start with him now if he is asking such things....talk to him about Lincoln, Truman, Washington....and other leaders.....Martin Luther King, Edison, Einstein......teach him what you know to be true.....he'll form his own opinions soon enough.....tell him what dad believes now....he'll listen.

well, maybe not everything....you are a gay basher...read some of your answers.....but my answer stays the same.....God help your kid.....i was hoping he had a good mother influence, but since you're cooking for a date....guess that's too much to ask for.....lose the hate, man......life is too short and the planet's too small. don't teach him hatred, he's just a little boy.

some of you idiots should not even have answered this guys question...you hateful, un-feeling, political poisoners....the man is asking for help raising his child, not a lecture from you. how many of you are answering from overseas? how many of you had a gun in your hand today? how many of you have gone to a funeral directly involved with 9/11?

Well, most likely it's what he hears and who he watches. When everyone a 6 year old know talks about Bush killing people he'll ask why rather than how do you know? is that wholly true? As far as explaining it you should try to be honest and give him the whole picture and not one side.

Innocent people? are you out of your mind? You think insurgents are innocent people? Insurgents who kill men, women, and children who are just trying to live? Insurgents who don't even live in iraq?

and if you want to say bush is a bad pres, just say it. Don't make up fake stories about your 6 year old asking you at dinner. For one,you would've asked immediently after not a day.

they to that marine poser down below, you're just a communist idiot pretending to be a marine. Go to hell
