~You're absolutely right. I never considered it before. From now on, I'm going with Atlantic Richfield and Dupont. Thanks for the heads up.

Why do you put up with any gas company??? I can't get over those question/answers like 'We need to drive don't we?' . Like there is some kind of low that says each and every person that owns a car has to stay on the road every minute that they passably can! Hasn't anybody under 50 ever heard of car pooling, riding a bus or taking the train? Hasn't anybody ever heard of staying home on week ends and holidays and having cookouts and neighborhood get forgathers. Or making a list and getting everything you need when you go to the grocery store, so you don't have to run to the conv. store two or three times a day. Using the time you spend sitting in line burning up gas at the fast food joint to cook a meal at home, if you weren't so lazy and started cooking at home you wouldn't have to drive your own car and would be able to carpool.

I don't. I will not spend a dime at Exxon, Mobil, Shell, or any of the major names. They are the most expensive. If everyone stopped buying from them then they'd have to lower their prices. Most people are too stupid and lazy.
And you don't have to drive your bike to work idiots! There are many other gas stations to choose from in most areas.

I've always bought my gas at QT or Kroger. I am surprised to find that Exxon is often the cheaper gas, and people read the prices, not the signs...

Not lame. Just good old-fashioned laziness.
Are you going to take your bike to work? jog? take a crowded bus with stinky sick passengers caughing on your shoulder? Heck no. We love our cars and will pay $10.00 per gallon if they make us. The price keeps going up and so does the total number of cars on the road. What does that say?

Events of recent years have certainly brought the issue of trust into the headlines: WorldCom fakes nearly $4 billion in operation cash flow. Enron executives manipulate their financial statements. Tyco International’s CEO is charged with cheating on sales taxes. Merrill Lynch pays $100 million in fines for misleading investors. Stanley Works tries to evade taxes by setting up sham headquarters in Bermuda. Martha Steward is accused of insider trading and obstructing justice. Hundreds of priests in the Roman Catholic Church are charged with sexual abuse. These leaders who recklessly used organizational resources for their personal benefit and executives who broke laws and crossed ethical lines in order to generate financial numbers that temporarily inflated stock prices and allowed leaders to cash in millions of dollars in stock options.
However!
Business is a huge source of vitality in the world and a noble enterprise. Thriving, decent companies are everywhere, and they should be celebrated. They create jobs and opportunities, provide revenue for government, and are the foundation of a free and democratic society.

Yes we are. We have become so dependant on oil as a nation for our own personal desires and pleasures that we never realized that we would later suffer from it.
