I have a three yr old girl named Brianne.
What stereotypes do you think of when you hear these names?

Laura is a classic name. Loretta: Loretta Lynn (singer) and Loretta from Family Guy.....

Sierra is a modern name who more than likely has parents who are more free spirited.

Rachel and Brianne are so common and yet so many of them get on my nerves.... I used to say I never met a Brittany that I could get along with...

That said, there is nothing "wrong" with these names. I have a stereotypical "dumb blonde" name but I like it anyway.

I think Sierra is kinda typical of a black person. Rachel seems like a white person name, and also does Laura. But, Laura kind of sound country. Loretta remins me of a name of a person in movies, where she will play a sexy role. Or Loretta make me think of a heavy set woman that is rejected by neighbors...lol.

Brianne sounds to be a white name (either for a goofy, playful, preppy person or maybe a easygoing person name), but if it was Brianna I will guess for it to be a black name.

A lot of names seem so sterotypical.
I am black, just to let u know and my name I don't guess it will be thought of as white "LaToya". I never ran across a white female with my name...lol.

Personally I like Sierra and Rachel more than Laura and Loretta...Loretta sounds like an older persons name to me and Laura is just to plain in my opinion.

I don't like Sierra because she will have to spell it every time she tells someone her name, also, I think it's kinda "trendy" which could make her sound like a snob.

I like both Rachel and Laura, they are good names, and popular enough that she won't have to spell them everytime but unique enough that she won't end up being one of 10 Laura's in her class. Both Rachel and Laura make me think of a nice person, someone who would be a good friend.

I like Loretta but you have to worry about people shortening it to Rhetta, which sounds redneck.
