its calcium build-up. you can use a product called Bar Keepers Friend.. it is a really hany cleaner to have around...just follow the directions on the can.. it is great for removing rust and kool-aid stains off of counter-tops too...

Look for some "Bartenders Friend" in the same place where you would find "Comet" in the store. It is a stainless steel polish and it took the lime "white stuff" out of my sink.

I agree with the others... Bar Keepers Friend is just that... A friend! LOL... Works fantastic! After you get it cleaned up use a stainless steel cleaner on your sink. It'll help the water bead off the fixture so it won't get that build up.

Try CLR. It is a lime and rust remover. If you have hard water, it will remove those stains as well. Great product really.

Well, rust is orangey in color, so it isn't that. It could be the start of lime buildup, or mineral deposits. Use CLR or LimeAway, they both work great!

hard water stain soak a per towel with vinegar and place over stain for overnight finish it the morning with a toothbrush and more vinegar
