pear shape when they did not have one before. I understand much of that is gaining weight but are there any physiological transformations going on that you are not able to see or control. It seems the whole body shape turns into something new.

gravity takes hold, your too stressed and tired to exercise and keep yourself toned. The kids come and it is all over with!!! You nolonger have time for yourself because it begins with doting over your baby and the baby becomes self sufficiant then the next one comes the next thing your driving them all over God's green earth to their extracurricular activites, then they become teenagers and you nolonger sleep because now their driving themselves all over God's green earth and worry. If you notice the people whos shapes have gone in different directions have children!!! The people without children are slim, trim, tan, and perky!!! If you can take time for yourself and not neglect yourself there is no need to have your body turn to jello.

Nothing that cant be fixed. People get lazy and in a sort of comfort zone. They think that they don't need to try so hard anymore.

I have just been reading http://fit-n-fat.blogspot.com about this.
Men have the same attitude. It has nothing to do with age. It's being lazy and not caring about yourself.
I'm sixty and in better shape than most 25 year olds.
In the brain too!
Go and have a read.
Take care.

From experience with a rather large group of people that I can use as references, it is because the older one gets, the more they sit on the fat part of the pear, and therefore, the more fat sits on that part too.
