i think australia will win surprisingly and i think we will lead the whole game...i dont think italy will score and i think they will have a bad day. They wont be playing at their very best for australia to win. We will come out firing

hahaaha you think youre so unbeatable yet you only managed a draw with USA, arguably the disgrace of the competition. Phleaseeeeeeeeeeee

Run and hide run and hide
THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS YOURE TOO COCKY, YOU THINK YOU DESERVE TO BE THERE INSTEAD OF AUSTRALIA, YOU DONT

im willing to bet $10,000 that the aussie will send the wogs packing! In fact im ringing centrebet right this instant.. I feel rich!

Pressure and more pressure ,, the pressure of expectation is on Italy,, Australia was never expected to reach this stage of the competition and as such will enjoy the experience more,, as a result the Italian team will buckle,, allowing the Aussies to dominate the forward line,, Aussies 2-1 Viduka 32nd minute
Kewell 78th minute Hey why not!!!!

My analysis before Czech Republic-Italy would have been "perfect" if only Toni would have played instead of Totti (and after the game, I still disagree with Lippi, because Totti had the worst performance of the Azzurri).
Therefore, I would like to try to analyze Monday's game between Italy and Australia, still taking in consideration that in the soccer World Cup (very unique competition) it is very difficult to make predictions just based on previous games or from individual biased opinion (meaning fans).
Yet, the analysis of the game can be based on few other factors that may or may not result truthful to the game: condition of the players, player's availability and coaches’ strategy.

Australia is a good team, with few key players and they seem in a good condition, but with evident technical and tactical limits: too often they allow other teams to score first, and if they do so with Italy, it may be problematic for them to penetrate the Italian defensive bunker. In addition, Italy knows very well three players (Grella, Bresciano and Kalac) that play in Serie A and they are not considered "amazing" players (often on the bench in their teams - Parma and AC Milan).
Italy is improving its game as a "group" and the only real limit they have is to underestimate the opponent.

Australia will not have Brett Emerton on the pitch (red card with Croatia) and he has been one of the best performers of the Team. I consider this a big limitation for Australia, and the substitutions may not be at the same level.
Italy will not have De Rossi, and maybe Nesta, but they have plenty of players at the same level available for the same positions.

Guus Hiddink had already made a little miracle with the Australian Team: he has been able to create a good group of players arranged in a good way on the field, but the technical limits of his players is going to be a problem that should not be ignored. Hiddink most likely will start with Kewell and Viduka as forwards and he will have a large number of midfielder to create a filter for the not so strong defense (5 goals in 3 games).
Lippi is a mystery: he will not announce any formation until the beginning of the game and he will organize his Team based on his men's condition during the next three days. My feeling is that he will propose Gilardino-Toni in the attack and keep Totti on the bench, with a Middlefield composed by Pirlo, Gattuso, Camoranesi and Perrotta. Alternatively, he may start with Totti in Camoranesi's place.

Like with the Czech Republic my prediction is that Italy has surely bigger chances of winning the game, considering that in life/death games the Italians change completely their playing style, transforming themselves to one of the best Team in the world.
