its super yucky but rinsing/gargling with warm salt water really eases the throat pain. mix it up really good, 1 part salt to about 4 parts water, hold your nose, take a sip, gargle and spit. you may just have a virus that is irritating everything so start with some anti-inflamatory meds like ibuprofen (advil) every 4 hours and gargle and just let it run its course. still achy in a day or 2? white dots on tonsils? possible strep bacteria...go get some antibiotics from the doc :)

The glands in your neck are your lymph nodes, they are swollen at the moment because they are helping to fight the infection you have.
Make a tea of Cat Mint (Nepeta racemosa) and drink it no more than 2-3 times daily. This will kill the virus that is making your throat sore. Marigold syrup is very effective in calming a sore throat.

Gargle salt water. Use water as hot as you can stand it and add about a teaspoon of salt to a glass of water and stir it up till it dissolves. Gargle with this at least 3 times a day with out swallowing it or it will make you throw up or have the runs.

It helps to kill the infection you have in your throat and ears.
