My recommendation is to find a fertilizer with low Nitrogen (the first number represented on the bags of fertilizers). Tomatoes don't require lots of Nitrogen but like Phosphorous and Potassium for flower and fruit formation. I'd probably look for a fertilizer with numbers like a 5-10-10 OR similar. Also... there used to be a product called "Bloom Set" specifically made for tomatoes... you could spray the blooms and get more tomatoes per plant. Make sure you have good soil (compost mixed with your soil) around your roots and not to over-water.

Good Luck!

Aside from fertilizer you may want to water than extremely heavy.I watered mine ever other day one year and along with some miracle grow the plants grew to 13 feet yes 13 feet tall tomato plants.I had so many tomatoes after I canned all I could and my friends took what they wanted I still left over 200 on the vines to rot.

well composted manure does a great job but if you haven't got access to it use miracle grow tomato food. It is good and you only have to apply it every 2 weeks.
