How do I save fonts in True Type file?

I have a lot of fonts but they are in ''Compressed Zipped Folder'' type. Is there anything at the end of the file name I can add to make it a truetype file?

I heard assing .TTF works but it doesn't.

unzip them and install them into the fonts folder
