I was in the second grade, and I was getting in line to go back inside. This boy and girl were horsing around, and the boy hit the side of my head with his head. The back of my ear where it connects to your head started to bleed. I was holding my ear and crying. I went to the nurse, and the nurse called my mom. My mom took me to the hospital. The doctor looked at it, and she cleaned it up. She said that if it was any deeper; I would have needed stiches. The doctor said I was so brave because I wasn't crying while she was cleaning it out. I got a coloring book and stickers; I also got out of school for the rest of the day. Talk about a hard head.

It's close between two. Both involved a significant amount of flesh being ripped from my knees. One was on those spinning wheels kids would puch and the ride around in a circle. I have referred to these as spinning wheels of death ever since an incident at a local playground when I was 6. I fell off the thing while it was in full spin, but my jacket caught on the metal handle, dragging me along under the darn thing at the edge on my knees. I followed this stunning performance with a ride from school on a Big Wheel (plastic, low slung tricycle kind of thing in case I am an old fart and you are not) when I jumped a curb/ The Big Wheel rotated in front of me in midair so it was upside down infront of me as opposed to under me. This was bad because I had been coming down a steep hill and the curb I hopped was onto a GRAVEL street. Note to self, one should not slide on gravel at a high rate of speed. When I heard that Daunte Culpepper had torn all three ligaments in his knee and would be out all year, I thought to myself......WIMP!

I didnt have any real serious injuries. I always tried to be a pretty cautious child. I do have a couple scars from little things (falling off my bike etc) and once when I was about seven we had just moved into a new house that had an old tire swing laying on the ground. I had picked it up to move it and bees had made a hive in it. I was stung from my thumb up to my elbow. Oh and once when I was about 14 or so I was using an electric can opener and my little brother bumped into me causing my hand to slip and I sliced my finger on it before it stopped...still have the scar from that too Now my oldest daughter. She has a danger streak in her that just wont quit. I think she has quite the angel watching over her...and she has given me a few scares LOL...when she was about one she was jumping on my moms water bed (dont ask) and fell and bumped her forehead on the headboard. Got a nasty bruise from that. When she was about a year and a half old she was running through the house and jumped on the kitchen chair-that then tipped over and she bruised the bone in her leg. When she was two or three she decided to wrestle one of the neighbor kids who was a couple years older then her and much bigger then her and got a concussion from that. When she was four she jumped off my moms bay window trying to fly and landed on her slate rock floor and broke her arm in two places and had to have surgery on that. I think she finally started to learn her lesson with that. She is still a dare devil...just a little more careful. We havent had any major injuries since then and she is seven now. My other two girls missed that courageous gene. They are too klutzy to try anything crazy LOL...neither have had any huge injuries. But my little guy got it. I think he feels like he needs to compete being the youngest of four and the only boy. He too has gotten lots of head injuries already and he is only two. Nothing too serious but a couple good knocks on the head.

Second grade, on top of the the wooden playground where there were ropes that you climbed to the top. Some sucker knocked me off the top, I had gravel in-bedded in the arm and back. It was about 20 foot drop but back then it felt like a 200 foot drop. I hope I see the kid that did it sometime, so I can whoop his butt now :)

Got hit in the head/ face with a 50 lb cast iron animal swing in kindergarten (they are now banned because of how dangerous they are). I can't remember it much except for refusing to see the school nurse.

It was first grade, during recess, and the last day of school. I was swinging and while I was in the air, the swing broke and I fell atop somebody. I almost broke my hip bone, but I got plently of bruises. The person's head bleeded and that's all I remember.

a boy pushed me and I fell down on a rock.

I was wearing new pants my mom made me. It ripped my pants at the knee and I still have a 3" scar from the wound.

I'm not upset about the scar, I'm upset that my mom patched my pants and made me wear them still... :( It was soooo obvious.

Sucks to be poor.
