If I turn the firewall off, will anything happen to your computer?

The use of fire wall is it will block the ports which are not in use while u are browsing in the net which prevent the oc from hacking and data transfer with out permission it even blocks unwanted spyware as well as it blocks virus also

So it is not suggeestable to turn off fire wall

Note: For some software installations or downloads we should turn off firewall temporarly it will be specified by the concern files automatically

Windows warns you before you do this... i recommend listening to them.

But if you really need to turn off firewall then it is safer to find out what it is blocking and make an exception to it... this can be done in the firewall setttings.

To make an exception you need to know either the adress of the computer you are acessing (adress is 000.000.000.000 number thing where 0s are a number), or the port that the signal uses to communicate (port is a 4 digit number).

your firewall was installed for a reason...to protect any nasties from getting into your system. Why do you want to turn the firewall off?...If you do turn the firewall off at least make sure you are running a DECENT paid for anitvirus subscription NOT a free download one like AVG and at least 3 spyware removal progs ie:Adaware SE Personal and Spybot Search & Destroy (both available from www.download.com) and also Microsoft Windows Defender (avail from www.microsoft.com)
NEVER download from shareware websites like(Limewire,Kazzaa,Bearshare) and NEVER download from sites for obtaining "cracks" for progs
