I hate it because I really love my home town team. They for one thing are not doing things in the clutch. The bullpen chokes when we have a lead, they give it away and when we have a situation where runners are on base in a tight game, we don't have anyone getting the clutch base hits. I also think their starting rotation hasn/t been getting the job done. I'm still going to see them as I'm not a fair weather fan, I just hope they can just get back to some respectability. I definetly think it is a wake up call.

The majority of the pitching staff that kept them going for so long is either retired, or with the Mets, Cubs, Phillies, Etc. Also, the best pitching coach in the Major leagues left Atlata and went to Baltimore. That is the number two problem for the braves. The biggest problem for the Braves is that the Mets spent the money to get THE BEST players in the NL to play in NY. There is no way that anyone but the Mets win that division this year. The braves 14 year streak is over. It will never be done again.

It was their planned time to loose. The owners of pro sports all get together and decide who is going to win the World Series, the Stanley Cup, the super bowl and the other such things. Then they plan it out to make it last for the full 7 games etc. It is all about money money money and as long as they can keep the people coming back they make more money to pay the athletes their high wages. It is all a planned sham!

Pitching staff is in shambles. They are one of the worst in the league, if not the very worst in the national league. As a team, they have a very high ERA, WHIP, walks, runs, etc. Everything you can name.
Offensively, it almost seems like all they have is Andruw Jones. The whole offense depends on him and that is way too much for Jones to shoulder himself.
As for the losing streak, yeah, its the worst the Braves have had in nine years i think. At least they aint worse than the Royals at least not yet. They are about 7-8 gms clear of the Royals (for worst in the league) and 5-6 gms clear of the Cubs and Pirates (for worst in NL).
Its gonna be a LONG season.

They don't have the depth in the bullpen that they have had the past years. Their starters do a good job of keeping them in the game, but their bullpen is weak and can't hold onto a lead. I think honestly that if they make any moves they need to acquire some bullpen help or promote someone from the farm system that can help and then maybe address other things. Their lineup is fine and they can produce runs, but you have to sure up the bullpen before you do anything else.

Well after 13 consecutive division titles, you cant really get mad when things take a fall. Theres always a valley in between the mountains. As the old saying goes "Its hard to be hungry with a ham on your back."
Oh, and Go Cardinals :D

All resemblance of talent is gone from their pitching staff, not to mention that it was Leo Mazzone (not Bobby Cox) who made the Braves the winners they once were.
