Does this make me an obsessive fan if i'm going to name my first born son after Jim Morrison? I mean i love his name James Douglas but The Doors are my favorite band and all....but is that taking it too far?

nope, not as long as you and the father are cool with it. at least your kid won't be named after a porn star like my little sister is (and i'm named after an alcohol - go figure). my parents are nuts.

Yes. Does your husband/the child's father know that you're naming the kid after some other guy you're obsessing over? Plus, think about what the kid's going to say when he grows up. He's going to be like "creepy, my mom likes this old guy and that's why I'm named this?!?"

As long as you don't give your kid the star treatment then I think you're okay. Heck, I always wanted to name my kid after my favorite song by Styx : Lorellei

no not at all lots of people name their children after there favorite group I named my first child after my favorite Iltian wine Chianti

No that is fine. I mean as long as you're not disappointed that your child doesn't look like him or anything. Then hell yeah go for it!!! At least it's not a crazy name like Raindrop or something!!!
