Im a Charge RN. I "wrote up employee "X" for proven false documentation" on 2 separate occasions. The war started! She tried to get me in trouble at every turn. My co-workers warned me to be careful and watch my back. By the way, no disciplinary action was taken against her. Approx. 1 month ago another employee got suspended by our manager for the same thing. Last week I walked up to a patient, picked up her chart and wrote 2 words on the treatment sheet before I was called to the phone. While on the phone "X" walked away from her patients, took the treatment sheet I started and made a copy of it. I was off the phone by this time and returned to the patient but couldn't find the sheet. I got distracted and the sheet suddenly reappeared. I finished my note using the current time since that's when the patient was talking to me. At the end of patient's treatment employee X made another copy of the completed sheet and turned it in to administration. I got FIRED for false documentation!!!

Don't you know nursing homes don't want to hear about things like false documentation, abuse, neglect. They want it swept under the carpet.First of all you need to report this person to the board of nursing.Secondly you need to file for unemployment compensation at your local employment commission. You can draw if you are fired for anything other that willful misconduct and that means "intentional" I am so sure you will get it,even if you have to appeal it.These politics go on in nursing and it is sickening, that is why this R.N. of many years is no longer nursing.Obviously this person is a butt licker. That is what they like.If this company has a corporate office then I certainly would make a complaint. You shook the sheets and they don't like that.Find something else but if you can afford it sit back and draw unemployment.I did for 6 months

Was this nurse "x" a subordinate to you? When I read between the lines of your question, what I gather is that the two of you had a serious personality clash. Therefore, the war started. You knit picked with her, and she got you back. And unfortunately, she won! You know, I say this all the time, women are so catty to one another in the workplace. Men on the other hand, will have a dispute at work with one another, and then go and have a beer and shoot a little pool after work. We on the other hand, cannot simply let it go and move on. I think you should chalk this experience up as a learning lesson and move on. I would also encourage you to read books on dealing with others personality in the workplace. My favorite is "Personality Puzzle," along with "How to talk to Anyone." People like her will undoubtedly be in any career field you enter. You just have to carefully and craftily build a strategy to effectively deal with these crazy b*tches! I'm so sorry that you lost your job, and yes I feel for you. I really do. But this all boils down to a catty personality fight, and face it, you lost.

Even though you have been fired, you still can attempt to get your job back (I'm assuming that you are not a probationary employee. ) If you were a probationary employee, you can be discharged for almost anything.

If you have a union, you should contact your union officials to see what avenues you can take. You can file a grievance, request a hearing or seek other alternatives.

If you feel discrimination was an issue (sex, race, age, national origin etc.) you can file a complaint with the EEOC. Your employer is required to have information on how to contact the EEOC posted for employees. These are usually located in your Human Resources Office.

Check out the State of Texas website. They have an office in Austin that hears complaints from people who feel they have been fired unfairly. Good luck.

Texas is a right to work state. You can be fired for any reason or for no reason and there is basically no recourse. I would just start looking for another job. As an RN you should have no problem finding employment. I know it sucks, but it sounds like you were working in a bad environment.

First, I would complain to the higher-ups in that job. Next, I would complain to any national organization that that job belongs to, if any. Finally, I would talk to a lawyer. While 'At-Will" says you can be fired for any or no reason, there are exceptions to that, such as racial discrimination. Find out all you can.

A copy should be easy enough to prove. No real ink. File for unemployment and fight, you can get your job back and back pay. Keep all of your reviews together and show them to the unemployment judge.
