I have a question regarding the wiring on a 1973 Chevy c10 truck,
the turn signals flash together like the hazards are stuck on but they're not, and there is a set of green wires (light and dark) that i cant figure out where they go. Can anyone help me???

First thing I'd do is pull the park/turn light fuses and the flasher and replace them. They are not expensive and sometimes short out. Location is under the dash on back side of firewall above pedals. Next I would run a visual check on the wires to see if there is a short. The most likely place would be at the steering column where the switch activated by the lever is located. On the early Chevy trucks the wiring harnesses had a tendency to break down with vibration and age, so try moving the harness at various points with the lights on a look for flickering. The wire junction block at the firewall where the harness plugs in is always a good place to start to see if it fits tight. A simple light probe can be used to trace the path of the wiring to see where the current crosses over to the wrong blinker. For example, turn on the left blinker and probe the right blinker wire from the firewall junction block. If the right blinker wire has current, you know the problem is in the circuit before it reaches the column switch, so concentrate from that point only back and forget about the circuit to the lights. If all that fails, you need either the facotry wiring manual available from Chevy parts restoration suppliers like Year One or NPD, or a wiring expert with meters who will separate the wires and run a continuity and resistance check. Sometimes for the home mechanic, it is easier to run new wire sections around the problem and bypass the old ones. Good luck.

If you just changed a turn signal bulb try replacing it with a double element bulb. You are probably shorting out the contacts in the bulb socket and back feeding it through the system and actually making the brake light flash. Maybe not though Hope I have been helpful.

The problem is likely inside the steering column. Pull the steering wheel to see. Wiring diagnostics can be difficult and it may be wiser for many do-it-yourselfers to take it to someone. Good luck.

Semi-Long answer warning!!

Ok, Your Brake lights go THROUGH the turn signal switch, there are TWO of them, one for each side..

It sounds like you have wired the brake lights to only one side (somehow?).

Both brake lights go through the switch and when you turn the switch it interrupts one side and begins flashing; allowing the brake light to still come on for the other side.

From what I have seen in me old book here, the Dark and Light green are the wires TO the brake lights in back IE: Outputs AFTER the turn signal switch..

This means that I have no ideal what or how you have the wires tied to them now or how you got to this point in your wiring.

(dang yahoo taking out the spaces (the ...... are for spacing ignore them!)

Best drawing I can do online and such, at least what I show here is the concept of the wiring to make it work - figuring out where you are, how you got there, and where to go is the tough part; but without more details (if not seeing it first hand) there is not much more I can add

you'll get to it more effective positive in case you drop the pan. there's a hook on the cable that has to come back off so the cable will slide out of the transmission. unhook it and pull the cable out and modify the 0-ring.
