It could be something like a EGR valve sticking, they will pull the codes and tell you for sure. There are a few sensor that can make your engine do that also. Good luck

We had a very similar problem with one of our vehicles. It turned out to be two problems at once. One issue was that the battery terminals were becoming disconnected and therefore causing the car to shut off while moving down the road. The second was that when our steering wheel turned all the way to one side it broke a wire connection (which I can not for the life of me remember what it connected, just that it made the car shut off). I'm not saying that these ARE your problems, just that in our situation, which seems like it could be similar to yours, these were the issues.
Good Luck!

Given the way that the problem progressively got worse, my best guess would be the egr valve. Anyone that tells you that it's the carburator, probably needs to go back to class. This vehicle is most likely fuel injected and does not have a carb. Either way your best bet is going to be a qualified mechanic. Private shops are fine as long as they are trained and qualified in engine performance and diagnostics.
Side note: be a little leary of the engine hoist hanging from the tree limb in the back yard. Not the best sign of a qualified machanic.

Take it to a Mechanic
Tell him about these exact problems -- and You will think I'm crazy (but that is another subject) BUT -- it could be your ignition switch as well , I have seen loose steering col's and loose ignition switches that would put enough tention on the switch everytime you turned XXX direction.. the car would shut off (or seem to die).
It could be a LOT of things, but don't rule that one out either.

There are several things it could be.
You could have a clogged fuel filter that has only been letting most of the gasoline through. That would be my first check.
You could have an electric fuel pump that is going out and cutting off intermittantly.
You could have some clogged fuel injectors.
Good luck to ya. I hope it works out well.

Same thing happened to me with the same model minivan. You must take it to the dealer, explain it to them, and they will know how to fix it. I don't recall just what it was something random like the alternator/regulator), but whatever it was fixed with no recurrence. Dealer only, not Joe Blows auto repair. Dealer boys know the quirks.

Sounds to me, like you either need a new fuel pump installed, or the fuel filters changed, I would take it to a RELIABLE mechanic, and have it checked out,

Could be sediment getting into the fuel line or a carburetor problem. Might even be a compression problem.
good luck :)

Throttle positioning sensor.
Mapp sensor. (my best guess)
Crank sensor
Idle speed motor
Vacuum leak
O2 Sensor
Have the mechanic scan the computer for codes, and go from there.
