I haven't found a pattern. It may be true that intelligent people will have less problem accepting their sexuality and less intelligent people will probably feel they have to hide it. Or they won't have the elements it takes to understand that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual. So they still are homosexual, but they repress it. I do think it's a trait of intelligence to assume your sexuality.

No, not quite that... when it pans out, it's roughly the same as the rest of society, although intelligence levels tend to be VERY slightly higher.

However, you cannot say that the intelligent are more likely to be homosexual, only that the homosexual are more likely to be intelligent.

My understanding is that we are demographically all over the lot -- it is true from what I've seen in studies that gays tend to be better EDUCATED than average -- but that does NOT mean more INTELLIGENT. Those are very different concepts.

*shrug*

Nor do I care, I have a terminal degree in my field -- but what difference does it make? My friends, gay and straight alike, range from homeless kids that we've helped after their parents pitched them out, to the children of elites now making their own way in the elite circles.

Our friendship group is set out by our hobby far more than by intelligence, or sexual preference.

But that's us.

Warm thoughts,

I have no idea.
My IQ is over 150 and I'm gay, but that's just me. I doubt that my being gay has anything to do with my IQ or vise versa.
...How does one gauge intelligence? Is IQ really an accurate measure? And what is intelligence anyways? Either way, it's subject to opinion and interpretation, and thus entirely subjective. And aren't more people somewhat bisexual anyway. I really doubt there's some sort of genetic link between the two.

Well... studies show that most people are at least bisexual. Now, as far as intelligence relating to gayness, I'd speculate that more intelligent people would be more openminded and accepting of themselves and other ideas, where as the less intelligent people would be more closeminded and in denial. But who knows.... I know some pretty dumb gay guys, and some brilliant str8 people too.

It does seem that way, but maybe people with lower intelligence are less likely to identify themselves as gay, perhaps because it just doesn't occur to them, or they feel the need to conform more.

No it's not true.

There are as many dim gay people as there are dim straight people. Intelligence doesn't come into it, you either are or you're not. How you choose to conduct yourself as a gay man or lesbian is where the intelligence factor comes in.

I don't think intelligence has been directly linked to sexual orientation. Stereotypically, gays are creative and inspired, whilst the straightest straights are neo-neanderthals. But stereotyping is GUFF nonsense.
