Of course it did, anyone who thinks otherwise is being ignorant.

Steroids will not improve your hand/eye coordination, that's true, however what Barry would ordinarily hit as a fly ball to right is now a home run. Also, and more importantly, Steroids key feature is that they aid in injury recovery, so while in August & September when the homer totals start to fall off due to people having sore or tired muscles, Barry's did not. (You could substitute McGwire or Palimero for Bonds in this argument).

Barry is the HR king until someone hits more than him. People keep saying he hit his HRs because of steroid use making him bigger and more powerful than he was when he began playing. Hitting a baseball is about bat speed, vision and technique, in other words, it is scientific. How do you account for someone like Eric Davis, Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., Mike Schmidt who don't appear to be as physically impressive('roided up), like Barry is being accused of being able to hit HRs. Davis hit 40+ a few times in different seasons, Griffey is nearing 600, Cal finished with 400+, and Mike is top 10 with 583. I think Barry is guilty of taking something that is now illegal and may not have been when he first consumed. If that is the case, he should just admit such so every one can move on. His swing, timing and vision are why Bonds is the HR champ.....

Is this a trick question? If you watch old footage of Barry Bonds when he was a Pirate, he wasn't as toned and built like he is today. Unless he recently discovered the right way to build muscle mass and drink lots of protein shakes after the age of 30, we know that he took some "performing enhancing drugs."-all the more reason to dislike the Giants! Speculation is that these "drugs" gave him more strength and power to hit balls farther out- ending in a lot of home runs. Until its admitted and as a precaution, we can only speculate. But I think we all know better. If his own godfather, Willie Mays, avoids the questions regarding the accusations against his godson, amid all the speculation, that should tell us something about Bonds. Sad to say, we may see an asterisk * next to his name after all the controversy is said and done.

Well sure they "could" have helped him. They helped Big Mac didn't they. Only problem is....he didn't take them. Like it or not, hate him or not....he's never tested positive for them. Thing is when you're on top, everyone else is trying to knock you down. Barry might be an ****** but he's not stupid. He's not going to blow it all buy using something so hotly talked about now. Right now he's su**ing, but my point is in last years preformance alone....he played in only 14 games, at bat 42 times, got 5 home runs for a 286 average and only stuck out 6 times. If you look at his career stats you'll see that about every five years he takes his game to another level. In the 80s he averaged 25ish homeruns a season, in the 90s he averaged 35ish home runs, in 2000s he's averaging 45ish homeruns. Since 1997 his FPCT have pretty much averaged at .984. Not to bad, huh. Yep, people are just haveing a hard time dealing with the fact that maybe, just maybe..there's someone out there who may be succeeding using just all natural.....talent.

Yes, because steroids don't just make the person stronger it gives players quicker bat speed. It makes their fast twitch muscles faster, which is one of the reasons why sprinters use steroids also. If a baseball player has good bat speed he can wait a little longer to make contact with the ball, thus he gets a better idea of where the ball is going to be located (high, low or right down the middle). When a baseball player losses his bat speed he doesn't make good contact with the ball so they end up hitting weak grounders or pop-ups. Bat speed is everything in baseball and as a player gets older the less bat speed he has.

Damn all these ppl are really gettin me annoyed wit their excuses for Barry, though he never tested positive he alrdy admitted he took steroids "unknowingly"(right). Second of all we all know that u need great hand eye cordnation to hit homeruns, but no one ever said he didnt have it b4, he alrdy had 3 mvps b4 he bulked up. He was hall-fame b4 roids but cmon the 73 homerun season, 717 homeruns, hes on them! U got to be really ignorant to think that u only need hand-eye cordination to hit homeruns, if it was like dat Paul LoDuca would be a great home-run hitter because he rarely stikes outs.

Just think back to skinny little Bonds, and skinny little McGuire in the 80's and 90's, then ask yourself how both of them gained almost 100 pounds of muscle in less than 2 years, both went from medium power hitters, to home run fame, both of them were quite old when these changes happened. It is not odd for a young man in sports to gain weight, muscle, and become a better hitter while young, but for someone past their prime to pull of a miracle career turnaround is very unlikely without strength increasing drugs.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Theres no doubt that he is one of the best natural hitters in the history of baseball, but how many homeruns did he hit that just barely cleared the wall??? Now how many of those do you think would have went over if he hadn't been on steroids. Obviously I don't think steroids help you hit the ball any better, but they do help it travel farther. Add the asterisk!

No, they didn't help Barriod Bonds hit home runs. Steroids only make your muscles bigger ,your nads smaller, and turn you into an asshole (or in Barry's case a bigger one). However they don't improve hand-eye coordination.

For one, he could have gotten bigger by working out and getting fatter. And besides, steroids don't help you hit the ball well
