It is a common situation. Is it "normal"? What does that mean? If you mean to say, given an attractive mate and a pleasant nurturing relationship with her, would most men NOT have a sex drive? The answer would be no.

But no relationship - and therefore sex drive - exists in a vacuum. Has the man's spouse suddenly put on 100 lbs? A male sex drive is forever tied to looks. Concessions are made for age, but only within reason. Has the man's spouse become a constant source of whining and complaining? Is the man's spouse sexually inhibited and only wants to have intercourse, and then in the missionary position, with the lights off, with no talking at all? There is a myth that men always think about sex. The truth is that men are easily interested in sex. This is why they look at other women - a new women's new set of curves spark an interest. Are there enough things in his current environment to interest him sexually?

There are special occurances when a man needs hormone supplements to maintain his sex drive. But in relationships, a man's sexuality is a lot more fragile than most women realize. There is probably something else wrong in the relationship, and this is why the man is not displaying any sexual interest.

you are right usually the guy is the one begging to get it
allergy medications ,diabetes and blood pressure medicines can cause a lack of drive also if you man had a bad performance maybe when tired or over exerted and feels pressure to perform better there could also be some psychology involved, ask your guy maybe he will talk to you and let you know what is going on

I can't speak for all men that age, but I'm 55, and my drive is good. I'm not married however, so I don't get the need met, but believe me , the drive is there. All I have to find is a way to put it to use, on a regular basis!

Have your guy get a check up and by all means get his blood pressure tested.
If you know he is on b/p meds already there is part of your answer,, its not his drive that low,, its what the meds do to him and his DR can help with that.

Some people are not driven by sex. Some people are driven by love. I know a 30ish female that has no sex drive. She is in search of love. Poor thing, she will never get laid.

It could be a few things.....does he take medicine for high blood pressure, does he have diabetes, does he suffer from depression? Usually men that age have problems that are physical. He should see a doctor.

I'm 27, so I don't know first hand... But, from what my co workers tell me... They just get so used to not getting laid that they stop putting out the effort and stop caring... Unless they know they are going to get laid... After so many years of trying to be romantic or whatever or so long w/o sex, they get used to it, and just don't care anymore.
