It would be a much better world online if guys actually read profiles of women before trying to chat with them...

... My profile is pretty clear, but I get alot of spam and people asking me "ASL" ... which is really incredibly annoying.

I think that reading keeps you from being too ignorant, and gives you something besides the boob-tube to talk about.

Reading is awesome.

People need to do it more, especially online dudes!

Not really. It depends on what they are reading.

If they read white supremacist materials, comic books, religious propoganda, classic literature, or betting tips at the horse races it will not make this world a better place. People will merely be more informed on what interests them.

I dunno, reading can increase your knowledge, but reading can also make you dogmatic, different people react differently to huge amount of knowledge, some of them master it and use it to create new knowledge, others are controlled by the knowledge and become oblivious to its potential fallacy and alternative explanations, it depends on people, smart people make the right use of books, dumb people are being used by the books, the amount of books you read has nothing to do with whether you are smart or not.
