check ur anti virus if autoprotection is on. open the antivirus.
maybe in its settings it depends on ur anti virus.enable the autoprotection option.

It depends on the antivirus. If its a free one you downloaded it probably wont. Security center only recangnized good ones.

Did you just install it? If so, you might have to reboot.

Also, it would help to know what antivirus software you have.
